Welcome to Wangaratta Choristers
The Wangaratta Choristers is a small classical music choir with a particular interest in performing rarely heard masterworks, and has become a strong cultural force throughout north east Victoria, Australia.
The Choir currently numbers around 18 members drawn from districts surrounding the home city who aim to present concerts of quality choral music at a high standard of performance.
Perennial favourites such as Handel's Messiah, Brahms German Requiem, Bach's St John Passion and Charpentier's Midnight Mass, are amongst some of the larger works performed by the choir. Concerts also consist of a wide range of music drawn from the repertory of madrigals, folksongs, Christmas carols and Australian contemporary music including works by local composers.

The choirs are joined this year by two
pianists and a six-piece percussion ensemble to present these most dramatic
works. Local and visiting soloists complete the personnel, all
conducted by Patti Graetz. ‘Carmina’ is a work familiar to many; not so
the ‘Chichester Psalms’. It is a work of sharply contrasting sections of
lyrical beauty alongside dynamic rhythms. The concert is rounded off with
the favourite, ‘Zadok’. You’ll be sure to enjoy this magnificent feast of
music. We look forward to seeing you there.
